Winner - IBM

Mia Mullarkey’s video for Upstart’s Granby Park won first place in the IBM / People For Smarter Cities award. We’re delighted. The prize is $10,000 which will go towards equipment for Ishka Films and investment into developing the Granby Park project.

Mia's video ‘Granby Park’ is about a non-profit group called UpStart who built a park from recycled materials in a derelict site. The video won early entry 1st place in an IBM 'People For Smarter Cities' contest, a contest held by IBM to promote positive ideas for city planning and communities.

Best Short Doc Award

Danger Overhead Powerlines won best short documentary at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2013. Thanks to the great team who worked on this project. Here’s a photo from the award ceremony.


Official Selections

Danger Overhead Powerlines has been officially selected for Aesthetica Film Fest, Waterford Film Fest, and UK Film Fest. That makes 10 festivals so far.

Preview Screening

A gathering of friends, family, filmmakers, and supporters at Odessa Club, Dublin, to watch the first screening of Danger Overhead Powerlines. Teresa Treacy was there with her sister Mary and they said they were very moved by the film.
