Ishka Films is a film production company set up by Mia Mullarkey in 2011. We produce short films, documentaries and music videos and our work has received awards, honourable mentions and nominations at film festivals worldwide. We also shoot creative promotional, event and fashion videos. We are based in Dublin and Galway, Ireland, but projects have taken place all across the country and beyond.

Mia is an award winning film director based in Dublin. In 2011 she set up Ishka Films and her work has picked up awards and nominations at national and international film festivals. She also creates digital content for musicians and companies since 2010 and several of her brand and music videos have won awards and gone viral.

In 2016 Mia and Alice teamed up
to win the competitive ‘Science on Screen’ funding award, commissioned by Science Foundation Ireland and Galway Film Centre, and the 'Real Shorts' funding award commissioned by the Irish Film Board.

Alice is a documentary filmmaker, currently living and working in Galway. Since completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film & TV) at Queensland University of Technology in 2008, Alice has directed, produced and edited documentaries both locally and internationally.

Producing and directing three half-hour documentaries commissioned by International IDEA, Alice has captured stories and voices across Asia, Africa, Europe and The Americas. She has also produced work through the
Simon Cumbers Media Fund and was the project mentor for the Galway Film Centre’s ID Project scheme.

Anna is a composer and music producer for film company Iskha Films and band My Fellow Sponges. To date, she has composed music for six short documentaries by Ishka Films, four of which have received awards or honourable mentions. Three new productions are currently underway.

In the past three years Anna has built a recording studio where she records with bands and composes for films. She is a classically trained pianist and teaches jazz and classical music with Maoin Ceoil na Gaillimhe.

Jasmina works as a freelance photographer, cinematographer and director, based in Dublin and Wroclaw, Poland. In 2012 she graduated from the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology with a BA in photography.

Changing Tides, co-directed with Mia, was a finalist on Her photos have been exhibited at numerous shows in Dublin including Loose Threads 2010, Photo Ireland 2010, Creative Woman 2012, and RAW 25 2012. Also in 2012 Jasmina was nominated for the Taylor Art Award at the RDS Student Art Awards.

James is an actor, choreographer and art director. He has trained in physical theatre at the APT in Berlin and at LISPA in London. He has worked with the English National Opera and the Spiegeltent in London and is a member of the internationally acclaimed The LipSinkers.

Within Ishka Films he was Art Director on the music videos Cold Hand, Floating and This Dream Song for My Fellow Sponges, production manager on the JPCoss fashion video, and co-directed projects with Mia for Macnas and Drop Everything.

Eddie is an actor, writer and director. He completed an MA in acting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2015 where he produced and directed his play 'Grassy Overtones' at the Arches Theatre, Glasgow. Eddie assistant directed the music videos 'Cold Hand', 'Floating' and 'This Dream Song'.

More recently Eddie wrote and co-produced 'Oh Brother', Ishka Films latest short film which is presently in post production.
